As a nomadic family, we’ve spent years travelling, exploring, and connecting with the world’s beauty and people. Along the way, we’ve embraced a way of living that honours the planet and all its inhabitants. But with every step, we’ve also witnessed the impact of unsustainable practices: overflowing landfills, polluted waters, and the undervaluing of skilled artisans. These experiences ignited a spark within us, a desire to create something meaningful that could make a difference.

The birth of Pure Ahi

Pure Ahi was born in Southeast Asia, inspired by the artistry of both local and international craftspeople - people who could turn simple, natural materials into meaningful creations. Their slow, intentional process stood in stark contrast to the fast-paced, wasteful world of conventional fashion. As a family deeply rooted in art and self-expression, we felt called to merge our love for nature, ethical living, and creativity into something more, a brand that reflects our journey.

Pure Ahi represents purity and light, while the serpent is an ancient sign of transformation, renewal, and growth. Together, they reflect our vision: to illuminate a path toward conscious living, personal evolution and harmony with the Earth.

Our journey took a pivotal turn when we learned about the harmful effects of synthetic dyes, not only on the environment but also on the health of those who wear and produce dyed garments. At the same time, we discovered the rich tradition and regenerative beauty of plant dyeing. We began learning from Indonesian artisans whose naturally dyed creations we deeply admired. As their customers, we were inspired by their ancestral knowledge: how they extract pigments from leaves, bark, roots and flowers. 

Today, we proudly work with skilled Indonesian artisans to support their craft and preserve these time-honoured techniques. Every Pure Ahi piece reflects this shared dedication to sustainability, beauty and mindful living while delivering products made with intention, respect, and love for both people and the planet.

Sustainability: As a fully vegan brand, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our vegan approach reflects our deep commitment to ethics and the environment, ensuring no animals intentionally are harmed in the creation of our clothing. By using natural dyes, minimising waste, and embracing slow fashion, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint and inspire others to do the same.

Ethical craftsmanship: We work closely with local artisans and tailors, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and meaningful support for their communities. For us, it’s not just about creating clothing but empowering the people who make it.
